Three update waves from November to December 2026

Xiaomi has published the global rollout schedule for HyperOS 4. Techmaniacs counts more than 80 devices from the Xiaomi, Redmi and POCO series that will get the major update before the year ends. Techgear.gr adds that the new version is built on Google's Android 17.

The rollout does not happen all at once. Recent flagships get the software first, then a second wave with more models, and finally the older devices. Techgear.gr explains the reason: with phases, engineers can closely monitor stability and avoid letting potential bugs spread to millions of phones at the same time.

Which models come first and which follow

The first wave starts in early November 2026. It includes the Xiaomi 17 series, with the Xiaomi 17 Ultra and the Xiaomi 17T, as well as the Xiaomi 15 and Xiaomi 15 Ultra. The Redmi Note 17 and Redmi Note 15 series are also included, popular in the Greek market according to Techgear.gr. From POCO, the F8, X8 and M8 are included. Among tablets, the first wave covers the Xiaomi Pad 8 Pro and Xiaomi Pad 8.

The second wave arrives in the middle of the month. It covers the Xiaomi 15T and 15T Pro, the POCO F9 and F7 series, and the POCO X7 Pro. Among tablets, the Xiaomi Pad 7, Xiaomi Pad Mini and Redmi Pad 2 Pro follow.

In December 2026 comes the group of older devices. It includes the foldable Xiaomi MIX Flip, the Xiaomi 14 and Xiaomi 13 series along with the corresponding "T" models, the Redmi Note 14 and Redmi 15, and also the POCO F6 and POCO X6 Pro. The December list also contains the Xiaomi Pad 6S Pro 12.4 tablet. The two sources agree on the layout of the phases, with Techmaniacs providing the more detailed list by name. Exact day-by-day dates are not given.

What changes on your screen and why not every phone gets everything

The design language is the most visible element. Techmaniacs calls it Liquid Glass Design and describes it as an environment with translucent elements, dynamic refractions and glass-style blur effects. Techgear.gr uses a different name, Soft Light Glass, and speaks of a more transparent and lighter look in menus and dialog windows. The two sources do not agree on the name, so it is worth waiting for Xiaomi's official designation.

Techmaniacs notes that Xiaomi makes clear these effects will not reach all phones. Older and cheaper devices will get the update, but the heavy graphics will stay disabled where GPU power and available RAM are not sufficient. The goal is smooth system response and battery life.

According to Techgear.gr, HyperOS 4 also brings other changes: a new widget stacking system that saves space on the home screen, a redesigned lock screen with options for font, clock and dynamic wallpapers, and better power management. The same report mentions stricter control over the permissions requested by third-party apps. On tablets, Techgear.gr speaks of new multitasking features on large screens.
